That sounds obvious. In practice, it is not.
Under sommaren finns det ett fönster som de flesta bolag inte utnyttjar. Ett fönster för förberedelse, för recruitment, för strukturarbete – utan det högtryck som Q3 och Q4 innebär.
What the best companies do differently
The companies I have seen deliver the strongest Q4 share a pattern: they use the summer to prepare for the autumn, not to recover from the spring.
That means recruitments started in June and was completed by September. HR structures are reviewed while it is quiet. Managers prepared for what is coming.
It requires discipline. It requires prioritizing the important over the urgent. But it pays off.
Three things to do now
1. Start your autumn recruitment
If you know you need to hire for the autumn — the process should already be underway. Every week's delay now is a week's delay in the October delivery.
2. Review your HR structure
Are your policies up to date? Do you have procedures for the situations that arise during an intensive period? It is easier to sort out now than in November.
3. Prepare your managers
Q4 places high demands on leadership. Are your managers ready? Do they have the tools, the mandates and the support they need to deliver?
A final thought
The quiet season is not a pause. It is the opportunity to build the foundation that the peak season requires.
The companies that understand that are the ones that are not scrambling in September.
If you have thoughts, questions, or simply want to talk something through — feel free to get in touch. I am happy to have an initial conversation with no agenda.

Right person. Right place. Everything changes.
